Like literally every other human and photographer in the world ~ i LOVE babies. Love love love em. If you haven’t cruised around this page much let me tell you a little bit about myself and why I think I’m uniquely suited to be your newborn photographer. For years (10+) I’ve been a doula and birth photographer. For those of you not akin to hippy mama talk, a doula is a support sister to a birthing mother (and typically one that desires a natural childbirth). For years I taught childbirth classes and attended all types of births. I’ve been invited to see babies born from planned cesarians to bath tub home births and everything in-between. Every birth is seriously the coolest thing in the world to me. And a new-to-this-side of-the-world baby is literally… magic. (especially because you get to take them home and I get to sleep ;0)

As a birth attendant I am used to holding babies only moments old. I’ve taken all the newborn first aid/cpr and blood pathogens classes required for a birth worker and keep my credentials up to date even though I’m not attending births at the moment.

I’m also a photoshop junkie. When you come to me for a portrait (vs lifestyle) session you receive hand-edited images. I may deliver fewer images than someone else, but that is because each image I present to you must be something worthy of hanging on your walls. Another majorly cool thing about being a photoshop guru is that I will never dangle your baby from anything or put their head or neck in compromising positions. Their safety is my #1 concern. BUT - with the magic of photoshop, we can easily make it look like your sweet pea is hanging on crocheted swing or have his lil noggin upright with hands placed below.

Lastly - I’ve just moved. Which means I’m rebuilding my brand and my client base here in Haymarket, VA. Which means I’m offering all inclusive newborn sessions for a fraction of the cost they were previously.

Lastly Lastly — don’t forget to add gift certificates to your registry!

Of course there’s more but you get the idea. If you have any additional questions please feel free to email me.

Frequently Asked questions:

Will you come to my home for a session? Ideally not. While this was something I offered previously I have found that my final product is exponentially more consistent when I work from a consistent location. Topped with Moms who should be resting getting stressed about having a tidy home for a stranger and it was just not the best thing for my clients.

Now I prefer to invite you into my home, offer you a comfy cozy chair and footrest, a cup of tea and snacks. While you peacefully cruise your phone or watch from an arms reach away.

Of course I’ve learned to never say never (especially for special circumstances) so please feel free to ask me if you think this is you.

Where is your studio located? My studio is here in my home located in Haymarket, VA. If you’re looking to map it - please use Evergreen Country Club as a good estimate for time as I don’t want to post my actual address for every creeper out there. I often serve clients of Gainesville, Warrenton, Aldie, the Plains, Middleburg and the surrounding areas.

I am no longer leasing the studio in Merrifield, VA. While I am passively looking for a studio space closer to home, I am content at the moment to put forth a concerted effort building my client list in a new market, with more natural outdoor backdrops and enjoying life in the country!

How do I book a session? Just send me a message via the form above and you’ll be well on your way. I’ll confirm that I have availability for your birthday window and we can start discussing colors and how you anticipate using the images! As soon as I’ve confirmed availability for your date you can purchase the session above.

Do you offer gift certificates? Of course! Portrait sessions are one of the coolest things to put on your baby registry! I even offer gift certificates in $50 increments so a group of your family and friends can work towards purchasing you this amazing lil memory. I do ask that you order gift certificates 2 weeks in advance or choose the digital download option to print off at home.
